ABOUT THIS TROPHY ROOM

These trophy pages document MYC’s physical trophies. A few date back to the origins of our club in the early 1900s. Some of our trophies are simply named for the position in a series or event, i.e. Wednesday 3rd Place. Many are named to honor the legacy or service of a member or friend of our club. They all help tell the history of our club and recognize the skill and accomplishments of our members.

The roots of this Trophy Room project stem from the original MYC trophy database created by J-24 skipper and past Trophy Chair Bruce Wampold. Bruce built the database that holds the records of more than 200 active and inactive MYC trophies. Assistant Trophy Chair Martha Florey and Don Sanford built on Bruce's foundation.

In addition to these physical trophies, our club presents picture trophies to winners of other series or special races like the Wednesday 2nd place or the moonlight race. In the future some of these may become named trophies honoring the legacy of a member or an event in MYC history. You’ll find a list of picture trophies at the end of each fleet’s list of physical trophies.
